The first Five Minute Friday prompt for 2020 brought a flutter of excitement and confirmation.

It fit perfectly with my One Word for the year.

One Word 2020 — NEW

I wrestled all day with what I wanted to say about the word direction and the word new.

Joined together, they reflect what the Lord has been whispering to me for several months .

Linda, I am taking you in a new direction.

I’ve been discouraged and confused with several areas of my life.

I know that changes are on the horizon.

Change can be exciting and terrifying at the same time.

A tweet from an old friend gave me the perspective I need this morning.

Disappointment weighs heavily on us, but God has a way of fulfilling His purposes by using what is unexpected for us but was fully known to Him. He sees every twist and turn of our lives and He simply asks us to seek His direction that we may reach the peace that He has prepared.
